Background
Carlton Stewart has a long and successful record in outplacement. We have worked with leavers at all levels and in all disciplines whose jobs have become redundant or who have volunteered for severance, as a result of organisational re-structuring. Our experience of managing outplacement programmes spans many years and has been gained in both new and established businesses where we have helped individuals, teams and much larger groups to achieve their career transition objectives.
For many, this has meant a similar role in a similar company; for others it has meant a different role or new industry. An increasing number of people we have worked with have undertaken a more fundamental change and have become self-employed (as contractors, consultants, franchisees, etc.). Some have embarked upon a new lifestyle in opting for part or full retirement.
Programme Options
We operate a wide variety of outplacement programmes to accommodate differing circumstances, needs and budgets. They range from workshop-based group programmes to individual programmes offering full career change counselling.
The essential elements of any programme are based upon equipping people with the tools they will require to achieve their objectives. For those running a job search campaign, this typically includes a campaign plan (covering the four job search channels: vacancy advertisements - in the media and on the web, recruitment consultant/agency registrations, making direct approaches to companies and networking), self-marketing documentation (CV and letters) and interview preparation. Carlton Stewart provides every person on a programme with appropriate reference materials and databases. We also provide the commissioning customer with regular progress reports.
Style
In all cases our objective is to work effectively with all parties to ensure a positive outcome. Our approach embraces both counselling and consulting and is based upon offering practical advice and a flexible, value-for-money service.
